Dust Bowl Brewing Co. has released Complaints Department Mega IPA, the newest entry in its Big Beer Series. The limited-release IPA registers 13.5% alcohol by volume and 99 International Bitterness Units, positioning it among the brewery’s highest-strength offerings.
Brewmaster Don Oliver said the beer was inspired by a taproom conversation about creating something stronger than Dump Truck of the Gods, the brewery’s 11.7% ABV IPA. The team developed Complaints Department during tax season as a lighthearted response to that challenge.
Complaints Department Mega IPA is available in 16-ounce four-packs and on draft in 5.2- and 15.5-gallon kegs. It is being distributed to Dust Bowl retailers, served at the brewery’s taprooms, and sold online.
The Big Beer Series features limited, high-alcohol releases produced quarterly to showcase the brewery’s range and brewing approach. As part of that schedule, Complaints Department will be available for a limited time.
