Fieldwork and Giants’ Catcher Patrick Bailey Release Collaboration

Fieldwork Brewing has partnered with San Francisco Giants catcher Patrick Bailey to release a new beer, Strike Thief 2x Gold Lager, timed with the start of the baseball season.

The collaboration draws on Bailey’s reputation as a defensive catcher, particularly his ability to “steal” strikes. The beer builds on a traditional gold lager style with a fuller body and more pronounced malt profile, while maintaining a crisp and approachable character.

Bailey said the goal was to create something suitable for a day at the ballpark but with enough distinctiveness to stand out. He noted that attention to detail—an important part of his role as a catcher—also influenced the brewing process.

As part of the launch, Fieldwork is introducing a limited-edition trading card series featuring Bailey. The first of 10 cards will be available at Fieldwork locations while supplies last. It can be redeemed for a discount on a 19.2-ounce can of Strike Thief at the company’s China Basin Park location during the season. Collecting the full set will offer chances to win items such as gift cards, merchandise, game tickets, and signed memorabilia.

Strike Thief 2x Gold Lager is available in 19.2-ounce cans at all Fieldwork locations, as well as at Oracle Park, including the brewery’s Skyline Bar.
