Philadelphia Flyers forward Garnet Hathaway, Flyers Charities, and Dogfish Head Craft Brewery have teamed up to release Engine 19 IPA, a citrus-forward pale ale brewed to support first responders and their families through the Hath’s Heroes initiative.
Hathaway and his wife, Lindsay, launched Hath’s Heroes to assist local first responders. Over the past year, they worked with Dogfish Head to develop Engine 19 IPA, aiming to create a beer that reflects community and connection. The 6.5% ABV ale is brewed with Simcoe, Chinook, and Citra hops, offering pine and citrus aromas with notes of passion fruit, toffee, and biscuit.
Fans can learn more about the project through Engine 19: Behind the Beer, a video produced by the Flyers’ content team that follows the collaboration from recipe development to packaging. It is available on the Flyers’ official YouTube channel.
Engine 19 IPA will launch next month, with Flyers Charities and Dogfish Head hosting a release event on Wednesday, September 10, at PHS Beer Garden South Street. The free public event will run from 6–8 p.m. and will include beer samples, Flyers raffle items, and appearances from team players and personalities.
