Dogs & Lagers Fest to Benefit VRCCO Care Fund

The Veterinary Referral Center of Central Oregon (VRCCO) is set to be the beneficiary of this year’s Dogs & Lagers Fest, taking place at Crux Fermentation Project. The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Crux’s location on 50 SW Division Street, is organized in partnership with Bend Pet Express and promises a day of community celebration focused on pets and their owners.

Event Highlights:

  • Date & Time: August 24, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Location: Crux Fermentation Project, 50 SW Division Street, Bend, Oregon.
  • Activities: Live music, local vendors, and food and drinks from Crux Fermentation Project.
  • Special Perks: The first 25 dogs will receive a swag bag from Bend Pet Express. Commemorative tasting mugs are available for $20, including two beer tokens, with additional tokens on sale for $6.50 each.

The Dogs & Lagers Fest is designed to celebrate Bend’s vibrant community of pet owners and their dogs. Beyond enjoying local brews and food, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with VRCCO veterinarians at the “Ask a Vet” booth. This informal setting allows pet owners to seek advice and insights from professionals outside the clinical environment.

Dogs and Lagers

Special-Edition Lager: A notable feature of this year’s fest is a special-edition Mexican Lager, created through a collaboration between VRCCO, Ponch’s Place, and Crux Fermentation Project. Proceeds from the sale of this lager will benefit the VRCCO Care Fund, which provides financial assistance for veterinary care to pets in Central Oregon whose owners are facing financial difficulties. This initiative supports animals in need of medical services that otherwise have good prognoses.

VRCCO Care Fund: The VRCCO Care Fund is dedicated to supporting pets and their owners within the community, using donations to cover the cost of treatments for animals facing neglect, abuse, or financial constraints. This fund ensures that pets in need receive the necessary care, helping to improve their chances of recovery and quality of life.

VRCCO, along with Ponch’s Place, encourages the community to join the Dogs & Lagers Fest to enjoy the unique lager and support a worthy cause.
