Lawson’s Announces Kernza Lager

Lawson’s Finest Liquids has introduced the Patagonia Provisions Kernza® Lager, now available at their brewery and taproom in Waitsfield, Vt., for a limited time. This collaboration with Patagonia Provisions emphasizes using high-quality, responsible ingredients and breweries to produce a flavorful beer.

The Kernza® Lager boasts a spicy, piney aroma and a clean, refreshing finish, brewed with organic hops, barley, and regeneratively-grown Kernza®. Kernza®, a wheat-like perennial whole grain, offers environmental benefits by promoting soil health and potentially storing more carbon in the soil than annual grains. These ingredients, sourced from regenerative and organic agriculture, contribute to biodiversity and healthy ecosystems.

Paul Lightfoot, General Manager at Patagonia Provisions, commends Lawson’s Finest for their community giving, environmental initiatives, and employee-centric approach. The partnership aims to incorporate more organic and regenerative ingredients into brewing.

Lawson’s Finest joins other reputable breweries like Allagash Brewing Company and Odell Brewing Company in producing the Kernza® Lager. As a B Corp Certified and sustainability-focused business, Lawson’s Finest supports regenerative agricultural practices through initiatives such as Patagonia Provisions’ collaborative beer program.

Founded by Sean and Karen Lawson, Lawson’s Finest Liquids also runs a Social Impact Program raising over $2 million for important causes since 2018. Starting as a small nanobrewery in 2008, Lawson’s Finest has expanded its production capacity and distribution across nine states in the Northeast. In 2018, they opened a brewery, tap room , and retail Store in Waitsfield, Vermont.
