Maui Brewing Celebrates 20 Years

Maui Brewing Company, Hawaii’s largest craft brewery, is marking a significant milestone this spring as it celebrates 20 years in operation.

To commemorate the occasion, Maui Brewing Company (MBC) will host an anniversary party at its Kihei location on Thursday, February 6th. The event, scheduled from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the beer garden, will feature specialty draft beers, a variety of food offerings, live music, and activities for attendees of all ages. Guests can enjoy music by the Collection of Lone Souljahs, sample nostalgic dishes from the brewery’s early days in West Maui, participate in giveaways, and more.

Reflecting on the anniversary, Garrett Marrero, co-founder and CEO of Maui Brewing Co., expressed gratitude to the community and supporters. “I’m beyond proud of what we’ve all accomplished as a team. Mahalo to all our fans, partners, and supporters who have helped make this dream a reality over the years,” Marrero said. “We’ve always focused on being a great partner in business and the community, supporting many great initiatives as well as being a resource during difficult times. We look forward to many more years with our ‘Ohana in Hawai’i and beyond!”

Founded in 2005 as a seven-barrel brewpub in Kahana, Maui Brewing Co. has grown into the 26th largest craft brewery in the United States as of 2024. Over the years, the company has expanded significantly, adding a grid-independent production facility and restaurant in Kihei, along with restaurant locations in Ka’anapali, Waikiki, and Kailua.

In addition to its craft beer offerings, Maui Brewing has diversified its product lineup to include Maui Hard Seltzer, which has seen a 26% growth in 2024, and Kupu Spirits, which features bottled spirits and ready-to-drink canned cocktails. The company’s non-alcoholic beverages, such as Island Root Beer and Island Ginger Beer, have remained popular, and the recently launched Maui Island Hard Tea is poised for distribution in multiple states, including California, Oregon, Washington, and Arizona.

This spring, Maui Brewing plans to expand further by introducing its products to Utah through partnerships with General Distributing Co. and Golden Beverage Co. The expanded offerings will include Maui Hard Seltzer, Bikini Blonde Lager, Da Hawaii Life Lite Lager, and its non-alcoholic beverages.
