In response to the fire tragedies that have been affecting the island of Maui, an outpouring of aloha has been received from around the globe. Below is a list of endorsed efforts from Maui Brewing Company to those of you who are wanting to help.
The Legacy of Aloha is specific to Maui Brewing and TS restaurants teammates that have been displaced and lost their belongings and livelihoods. We have partnered the two restaurant groups so we can have the biggest reach.
Makai.org was founded as a non-profit organization by local business leaders in order to advance the rebuilding efforts and fund construction for un/under-insured private local residences.
Global Empowerment Mission is operating the fiscal responsibilities for the Maui Brewing Company Fire Fund which assists with needs on the ground.
Inspired by Sierra Nevada’s Resilience project of 2018, Maui Brewing Company will be brewing a Kokua beer. Translated as “extending help to others” in the Hawaiian language, the Kokua project will be one beer, brewed by many, to support the people of Maui with 100% of proceeds going to local Maui non-profit organizations mentioned above. Brewers from around the world are invited to participate in the project to raise funds for the people of Maui. Those breweries interested in participating should reach out to Maui Brewing Company for the link to the recipe and more details.
Additionally, Maui Brewing Company locations in Kihei (Maui), Kailua (Oahu) and Waikiki (Oahu) are accepting donations for much needed household items, including baby items (formula, bottles, diapers/wipes), blankets, towels, pillows, batteries/flashlights, and toiletries. Donations are being accepted daily at MBC Kihei between 9am and 9pm, or MBC Kailua between 11:30am and 9pm, and MBC Waikiki between 11:30am and 10pm. Due to capacity limitations, MBC is encouraging people to please consider making a financial donation to the aforementioned organizations rather than physical donations.
