Tröegs Independent Brewing is bringing back one of its most popular beers, the double IPA Nimble Giant, for its annual limited release.
Nimble Giant originated in Tröegs’ Scratch Series, where it was initially an experiment with Mosaic hops. After multiple trial batches, the brewers discovered a winning combination of Mosaic, Simcoe, and Azacca hops. John Trogner, Tröegs’ co-founding brother and brewmaster, recalls the excitement around these early batches: “Fans would stop me on the street and rave about the Scratch batches.”
This double IPA stands out with a 9% ABV and features flavors of tropical fruit, pine sap, and honeysuckle, balanced by pilsner and Vienna malts. The beer’s deep orange hue and harmonious blend of malt and hops contribute to its appeal.
Nimble Giant consistently scores ‘Outstanding’ on BeerAdvocate and frequently ranks among the top ten trending beers on Untappd when released. Available on draft and in 16-ounce cans, it can be found throughout Tröegs’ distribution network.
