Tröegs Independent Brewing announced the launch of its latest creation, Field Study Summer IPA, as part of its rotating seasonal series. Drawing inspiration from the bright and vibrant summer sky, the beer’s reimagined label design reflects the essence of the season.
Incorporating a fresh accent of blue, the updated appearance of Field Study perfectly embodies the joy of enjoying a cold beer during one of the most delightful times of the year. When it comes to crafting Field Study, Tröegs prioritizes locally sourced ingredients. A portion of the rustic pale malt used in the beer’s grain bill is grown and harvested in Pennsylvania, supplied by Double Eagle Malt located just outside Philadelphia, PA.
John Trogner, founding brother and brewmaster at Tröegs, emphasizes the importance of using local ingredients, stating, “We like to use local ingredients because we can easily get out and try them. We really do dig getting in the fields and tasting the ingredients and using them in beer.”
The blend of hops featuring Citra, Mosaic, and El Dorado contributes to Field Study’s summery flavor profile, evoking notes of ripe grapefruit, juicy pear, and a subtle hint of melon. Field Study Summer IPA boasts a bright flavor profile, low bitterness, and a moderate 6.2% ABV.
