Vine Street Hosting One Pint at a Time Event

Vine Street Brewing, Missouri’s first Black-owned brewery, made waves last year in an predominantly white industry. Now, they’re back with “One Pint At A Time,” a groundbreaking weekend event on April 12-13, featuring prominent Black brewers and creators from across the nation.

The weekend festivities commence with a live episode of Beers with Nigel, a podcast hosted by Nigel Woodberry, a well-regarded figure in the Kansas City brewing scene. This is followed by a bottle share on the brewery’s patio, setting the stage for the main event on Saturday at the historic Gem Theater.

At the Gem Theater, attendees will view a screening of the documentary “One Pint at a Time,” preceded by a panel discussion featuring notable figures in Black brewing, including Teo Hunter of Crown & Hops, Day Bracey & Ed Bailey of Barrel & Flow Fest, Alisa Bowen of Rhythm Brewing, and Jon Renthrope of Cajun Fire Brewing.

The event aims not only to celebrate the history of Black brewers but also to support Black-owned businesses and community organizations. Proceeds from the event will go to the National Black Brewers Association, the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, and the American Jazz Museum.
