Tröegs Independent Brewing has added a new beer to its seasonal rotation with the release of Leaf Seeker IPA. This West Coast-style IPA joins other seasonal offerings from the Pennsylvania-based brewery, including Field Study and Blizzard of Hops.
Leaf Seeker draws on the hop-forward character of early West Coast IPAs, a style that brewmaster and co-founder John Trogner says is seeing renewed interest. “With Leaf Seeker, we wanted to connect the dots between those big, hoppy IPAs from California and Colorado with our own East Coast culture,” Trogner said.
The beer features hops sourced from the Yakima Valley in the Pacific Northwest, a region the Tröegs team visits annually. The current hop selection includes Citra, Chinook, and El Dorado, which contribute aromas and flavors of citrus, pine, and tropical fruit. These are supported by a malt bill of pilsner and Vienna malts.
Leaf Seeker has an ABV of 6.4% and is designed with a balanced bitterness that aligns with the brewery’s approach to hop-forward beers. It is now available on draft and in 12-ounce bottles and cans throughout Tröegs’ distribution area.
The release comes ahead of Tröegs’ upcoming fall variety pack, Perpetual Exploration, which will include Leaf Seeker along with Perpetual IPA, Graffiti Highway IPA, and Oktoberfest Lager.
