Tröegs Independent Brewing has announced the return of its Sunshine Salt + Lime Lager, a seasonal release in the brewery’s Once-a-Year series. The rotating lineup also includes beers such as Mad Elf, Nugget Nectar, and Nimble Giant.
The lager is brewed with pilsner malt and flaked rice, creating a crisp and clean base. German Hallertau Tradition hops are used for balance, while lime zest oil and kosher salt are added to give the beer its citrus-forward character.
According to co-founding brother and brewmaster John Trogner, the beer was first developed as part of the brewery’s Scratch series before being included in a variety pack. Its popularity led to its addition to the Once-a-Year lineup.
Sunshine Salt + Lime Lager has an alcohol content of 4.3% and features notes of lime with a subtle saltiness. It is now available on draft and in 12-ounce cans throughout Tröegs’ distribution area.
