Tröegs Independent Brewing is partnering with the Pennsylvania SPCA to promote pet adoption through a program called “PALs with your Pal.”
Each week in September and October, the Hershey-based brewery will feature an adoptable pet from the PSPCA. Tröegs will pay the upfront adoption costs for each featured animal.
The program is named for Tröegs’ Pennsylvania Lager, also known as PA Lager. The 5% ABV beer is available on draft, in 16-ounce cans, and in 12-ounce bottles throughout the brewery’s distribution area.
Tröegs brewmaster and co-founder John Trogner said his family has supported dog rescues for many years and hopes the partnership will help PSPCA dogs find homes. Gillian Kocher, the PSPCA’s director of public relations, said the organization appreciates Tröegs’ support for animals arriving at its shelter in need of adoption.
